My Inspiration: The Backstory
While this collection was inspired by my love of everything French, the story goes deeper. When I think back to why I adore France and all it has to offer, it stems from a woman who made a big difference in my life: Amanda MacDonald. She was my very first French teacher in highschool, and had the most lovely, engaging way of teaching the subject: she also had a timeless classic style that I admired. Amanda was (and still is) kind, encouraging, intelligent and deeply passionate about her own love of France, the culture and language. My very first trip to France was with her on a school trip! It was Amanda (Mme McDonald) who encouraged me to travel, alone, to France to attend a university in the alps for a summer French school that forever changed my life. I am still in touch with her to this day. A little reminder of how big of an impact you too can have on someone’s life, it really is a beautiful thing and I am so grateful that she was a part of my childhood and such an inspiration to me in every way.
